WHAT IS THE MCOP?

The Model Conference of Parties (MCOP) is a unique opportunity for students to step into the shoes of global leaders and decision-makers working to protect nature. Organised by WWF-India in partnership with Capgemini, MCOP is inspired by the Conference of the Parties (COP) under the United Nations Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD).

This year’s edition—MCOP6—will bring together student teams from across India for a year-long journey of learning, collaboration, and action to protect biodiversity and contribute to global goals.

THEME “GENERATION 30”

MCOP6 continues the theme “Generation 30,” rooted in the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework (GBF), which sets the target to protect 30% of the planet’s land, freshwater, and oceans by 2030.

Aligned with India’s updated National Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plan (NBSAP), the programme empowers students to be at the forefront of this movement—designing local solutions for global environmental goals.
